Once people got over the newness of HSBC Arena, their hearts and minds went back to The Aud. Remember the fried bologna stand at the east entrance? The one beer vendor who always proofed you? Putting too much horseradish on a beef on weck at the Poor Man’s Aud Club? OK, maybe it was their stomachs that went back to The Aud. Early in 2004 some Aud souvenirs were brought over to the Arena, and the new “Poor Man’s Aud Club” (inexplicably changed to the “Pour Man’s Aud Club” since then) was born. The best beef on weck at the Arena is served at one end, old Aud Club booths and fixtures welcome patrons at the other. The letter board from the main Aud entrance– still showing the players’ season scoring totals from the penultimate game at The Aud– is reading material for the beef on weck line. And three sets of seats from the Blues are mounted on the floor for the patrons who fail to reach the bar in time to grab a booth. 4 3 Almost 15 years later, fans at HSBC Arena are still fascinated by the stats on the letter board removed from the main entrance to The Aud.
